Sylt – Day 5

“Sometimes, you read a book and it fills you with this weird evangelical zeal, and you become convinced that the shattered world will never be put back together unless and until all living humans read the book.” –  John Green, The Fault in our Stars

I had this “weird evangelical zeal” today.

After I had finished Artemis Fowl.

The end was so perfect and sad and funny and awesome and …

I really love the book.

So this morning I just spent my time laying in bed and read.

And after I had finished I just lay there and thought about the book and that I´ll never be happy again. Because I actually read the book. THE BOOK. It feels like something is missing now.

As always the boys were surfing and finally they got their sailing license. (Congratulations again. )

Tomorrow I´m going to have to do an SUP course too. (SUP = stand-up-paddling)

So in the afternoon we drove to List (It´s in the north of Sylt.). There we visited this garden furniture shop, where we were last year to.

This thing is also very clever. It´s a loudspeaker who works without any power.

A photo like that we already took last year. He hadn't move since then. Sadly my brother was making stupid things again.

Later we drove to Westerland.

There was a wine festivity on the promenade.

Everywhere you could see or hear street artists. It had a really nice atmosphere.

We had dinner there at one stand, but sadly they had a Helene Fischer CD on. I don’t want to say something against her music, but it´s really not my type. Oddly my brother could sing along the most songs.

Later we drove back home.

Sylt – Day 4

“It´s like learning to ride an unicorn. You never forget.” – Eoin Colfer, Artemis Fowl

Today we made our way to Amrum, my mum and me.

We drove there at ten o´clock with a ferry with way to many people at it.

ferry

It was very full and I sat next to some strange old ladies.

I guess they didn’t like me very much.

The bad youth, I know. All these annoying teenagers. I´m sorry for being there, my dears.

(And I really hadn’t done anything. So why did they hate me so much?)

On my other side sat a big black hound. He lay in a puddle and considering he smelled.

I guess he was blind and his fur wasn’t longer available. Poor dog.

On our way through the North Sea we also met some seals.

They just lay there and stocked up some sunshine.

Finally we arrived.

In the first village (I forgot the name.) we had lunch and strolled here and there.

beach-amrum

Late we took the bus to Nebel.

There we found this nice little pottery “farbrausch”.

Where you got the chance to draw on cups.

And I decided to do it. So I´d get something for my host family as a present. (If I´ll ever get one.)

cup

(I wont post the whole cup. If my host family will see this it wouldn’t be a surprise anymore.)

We also bought there wind chimes for our garden.

Then we took the bus back to the village without a name.

It is really hard to be in a bus full of people if you have to carry a big carton with you.

Then we took the ferry back to Sylt.

legs

And we met a seal again.

And a seagull was also there.

So and now lets come to the important stuff.

Because this was just the introduction.

A really important thing happened today.

I got THIS:

image

This isn’t just a book.

This is the last volume of my favourite book series.

ARTEMIS FOWL

And I´d never read it.

Even if it was published a few years ago.

I hadn’t got the time.

But now I own it and everything is perfect.

About Artemis Fowl you should know:

I love it more than Sherlock.

And that’s saying something!

I could write now an endless text about how perfect the books are, but I wont.

For that I´ll make another post later.

I´m thinking about a new thing on my blog.

You´ll see.

May the fours be with you.

(Got this? Hahahaha. No. Because you hadn’t read the books.)

Sylt – Day 3

“You’re a prefect? Oh Ronnie! That’s everyone in the family!” “What are Fred and I? Next door neighbors?” – J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix

Sometimes I think I´m Fred and George.

Today was one of these moments.

My whole family is like we-are-going-swimming-and-never-come-back-because-it´s-so-funny.

And then there is me.

Nah-I-will-just-lay-here-in-the-shade-and-read-my-book-stupid-water.

So you can guess what I did as we were at the beach this morning.

I laid in the beach tent read on my kindle and the others went swimming.

My brother came all the time and asked me to come swimming to. I don’t know how often I told him this week that I HATE SWIMMING IN THE SEA. (Got this Jack?)

So obviously I didn’t went swimming.

Later we played boules. Again the loser will be king of the kitchen. Jack loosed again. But because he´s today, King George aka my dad (I really don’t know why he wants to named like this on my blog) will rule the kitchen tomorrow.

On our way back home we met this little islander.

lizard

He was enjoying the sun as the most people while lunchtime.

Later we went different paths again.

King George and my brother went surfing again.

Together with my mother I planned to visit an exhibition in Rantum.

Stupidly the boys took all the keys with them.

So I had to drive to the beach, searched for my dad (Fortunately he was at the beach and not in the water as I came.) and then ride my bike home.

Then finally we started our trip.

But after the half we thought that we would come to late and so we turned round.

At home we read that we wouldn’t have come to late. Wherever.

King of the Kitchen

“If you lose your temper, you lose!”
― Richard Diaz

Our favourite game “Schocken” was today celebrated on Sylt.
3 cubes for everyone, triple one (“Shock-out”) is the best.
And the lucky looser for today is Jakob.
The nice prize is: King of the kitchen for next day.

The game will be repeated everyday while we´re staying here.

Be prepared for tomorrow.
Amazing games will happen.
Stay tuned…

Sylt – Day 2

ich will zurück, ich will zurück,

ich will zurück, ich will zurück,

nach Westerland! – Die Ärzte, Westerland

Today we came back. Back to Westerland.

Because of not so perfect weather conditions we decided to visit our old “home” again.

Since last year it hadn’t changed a lot and so everything was very familiar.

We strolled along the promenade and watched the waves out of a beach chair.

feet-promenade

The whole beach was empty. Only some brave people swam in the sea.

beach chairs

Later we had lunch in the city.

Of course fish.

And of course fish by GOSCH.

gosch-lunch

The next hours we went different paths.

My mother did whatever she did.

My dad, Jakob and I bought new socks.

(My brother forgot to take enough with him. He´s very “good” at packing trunks.)

After that we strolled through one of this technology shops, where we watched the German football team coming home. Because of that we started searching for new German shirts, but sadly they hadn’t got any.

And then we ate ice cream.

ice cream

I´ll never eat ice cream again.

It was way too much.

As it started raining we drove back to Hörnum.

And now I´m home.

The rest of my family is doing surf courses or is going for a walk.

But I got music.

And blogging with people around me is uncomfortable.
