Sylt – Tag 1

“We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.” – Jawaharial Nehru

See you

Sylt – Day 9

It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. – Ernest Hemingway

Our last day at Sylt we spent at several locations.
1. Rantum.
This morning we rode with our bikes there. Had ‚lunch‘ (we just ate cake) and strolled through the city.
2. Westerland.
There we went by car. While my dad did his Sports badge (btw he got gold) we bought new shoes for my brother and had ‚Fischbrötchen‘.
3. Hörnum
Here we had dinner at a nice restaurant in the middle of the town. Sadly my brother hadn’t got any ice cream at 9 pm.

Now we’re at home and enjoy the evening.
My brother is already in bed (aka he is youtubing).
Tomorrow we’ll drove home.
Allons-y Alonso!

Sylt – Day 8

“No need to hurry. No need to sparkle. No need to be anybody but oneself.” – Virginia Woolf

This day was calm. And hot. Too hot for my taste.

We spent the whole day laying somewhere.

In Bed. On the beach. On the sofa.

So nothing very special happened.

Except some things:

  1. While a walk through the town (only time we moved this day) we explored a golf course in the dunes. And tasted really amazing ice cream.
  2. On the beach there was a little girl also named T(h)eresa.
  3. While surfing through the Internet I saw some things I´ll find out more about when I´m home. On thing were the “nerdfighters” (long story to explain what this is. Just google them, they´ve got an FAQ.) the other thing was a new idea for my blog. (I don’t know if I’ll do that. You´ll see. )

Today you won’t see pictures I hadn’t take some so…

Just 1,5 more days to stay here.

And then my post will be less.

We´ll have a game night again.

So see you tomorrow.

Sylt – Day 7

“One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain.” – Bob Marley

I woke up this morning and the only thing I felt was pain.

As our SUP-teacher yesterday said: “Tomorrow you´ll feel that you´ve done SUP.”

And I feel it. EVERYWHERE.

But even if I felt this bad I had to stand up.

Church was calling.

So we drove to Westerland.

The church was very full. But we came soon enough so we got a seat.

In the roof of the church there was a window.

And on the window there sat some seagulls.

Most interesting thing this morning.

The next hours we spent at home listening to music or reading.

But then my parents had this genius idea to go for a walk.

A long walk.

On the beach.

Walking + sand + already hurt legs = my dead

We went again the same way as on Monday.

My lucky brother hadn’t to come with us, because his foot was hurt.

But first we visited the flea market on the port.

There were many books, but we didn’t stay long.

And then we started our walk.

Over 1,5 hours of walking.

Meeting dogs, angler and some people who hadn’t get were the naturism beach ends.

The sea was beautiful today.

On the one side of Sylt the waves were big and on the other side it looked like a big bathtub.

Finally we were back and had “Müffelchen a lá Rico und Oscar” for dinner made by my dad.

Now were looking forward to watch “Tatort”.

Wishes for a painless life.

Sylt – Day 6

„Don’t Panic.“ – Douglas Adams, Hitchhiker´s Guide

Because when you panic while you are on a SUP-board, you´ll end in the salty sea.

Today, as I told you yesterday, we made a SUP course.

(SUP = Stand-up-paddling)

It was pretty amazing. Even if I just sat or kneeled on the board. Standing I thought would be too dangerous.

And as you know me, I never do things that are dangerous in my opinion.

In two hours I managed to just fall for one time in the water. And with that I`m the champion of the day. The others fell many more times.

The best thing was when the ferries came along. Then the waves grew bigger and it was a fantastic feeling to sway on them.

But after two hours we were pretty exhausted.

We went back to our flat and I had a not so nice conversation with my blog. (As you can see I change everything here.) The stupid blog refused to do what I want. (I´ll do it later when I´m home again. I guess I know what the problem is.)

My parents went out to make a bike tour or go shopping in this little holiday shops.

From her shopping trip my mum brought some “new” books too. (Thanks again.)

One of the funniest books I´ve ever read. 42

Later we drove to the “red cliffs” and had dinner in a restaurant.

The food there was very delicious, but way too much.

Don´t panic my dears.
